I am happy to introduce Amy Austin to you as our director for the Chicago land area. Amy has an encouraging and motivating spirit that is contagious. She is passionate about helping girls of all ages to become their very best inside and out. A couple years ago Amy was given a makeover by Cristina Harty. The simple application of the right make-up and a different style to her hair gave Amy a new found confidence that had been missing. Since that time, Amy has been trained directly by Cristina to help women look their best. She is a walking example of how feeling good on the outside directly affects your inner self. When you can walk in a room with confidence, people are going to notice you like never before.
Amy desires to see girls get set free from bondage and to come into their calling. Over the years she has come to realize that most people have no idea what they are passionate about and do not know that they were actually born for a purpose. Amy loves seeing when girls begin to realize they are strong in the Lord and beautiful inside and out. Encouraging girls to step out of their comfort zone and just go for it burns deep in her heart. She believes that if she was able to bust out of her thick protective shell, anyone can.
For the past five years Amy has worked directly with the models for an annual fashion show in the Chicago land area. She has helped with the picking out of clothes, applying make-up, walking the runway, and giving them the confidence they need to step out and be the woman they have always wanted to be. She loves to help release that beautiful potential that is inside all of us.
Having a daughter of her own, she desires to raise her in purity and truth. Amy wants to input the importance of inner beauty to her daughter. A house rule of theirs is to treat others the way you want to be treated. Amy encourages her daughter to be a leader, to be strong in her faith, and stand up for what she believes in even if it's not popular. Amy and her husband of 12 years are very aware of what their children are exposed to in this world. They are a strong family unit that has been a loving example to others not by their words but by their actions.
Why have you chosen to work with Kharisma?
"I am so passionate about helping girls of all ages realize their true potential. Kharisma School is such a perfect fit for my gifting and personality. The flexibility it offers flows with the busyness of being a stay-at-home mother of three children."
How would you describe your personality?
"Wherever I am placed I seem to rise to the role of a leader. It's very hard for me to sit back and watch life happen. I want to roll up my sleeves and be a part of something. If I see a problem I think of how I can fix it or make a situation better. I am not afraid of change. I am extremely positive, almost to a fault. I see the best in everyone; extend grace and kindness to those I come in contact with. My door is always open and my phone rings off the hook. I love who I have become and desire to see others function in confidence."
What are your beliefs?
"I am a Jesus follower to the core of my being. I was fortunate enough to be raised in a Christian home and environment. All I have ever known is that Jesus is my Lord and Savior and He died so I could be set free."
What is your current education?
"I completed my Bachelors Degree at Eastern Illinois University with a major in Psychology and a minor in Business."
What are your hobbies?
"I love being with my girlfriends. You can usually find me organizing a women's bible study or a fun gathering of some sort. I also love to run and be active. Vacations are my favorite! I grew up going on yearly vacations with my parents and my grandparents. Some of my fondest memories come from those trips."
